Safety @ BMW – by wearing the AMULETT

This is one of BMW’s innovation to answer safety.

They call it the AMULETT, which is BMW’s research on “Proactive Pedestrian Protection”.

The concept is this, a child wears an “AMULETT”, which is the size of 2 cigarette boxes at the moment and will be smaller at production. If the child runs out on the street, the transponder in the car will pick up this information and will be visible in the car’s info screen. Take it like an X-ray vision of the street found on your screen.

With this you will be more cautious when you see a lot more dots on your info screen when you drive past the street.

I wonder when this is really in production, will it be limited to BMW cars only ? I think it should be available for all…
