Proton Waja 1.6 – My Ride – Part 6 – ICE

The next topic i want to talk about now is the ICE (In Car Entertainment) on my car.

I am the kind of people that enjoys Bass, so i had to invest some amount of my savings on
this area :p

Even my colleagues knew that i love bass, so on my birthday last year, they decided to get me a Subwoofer ! Many many thanks to them for giving me such a wonderful birthday gift !

Its a 12″ Mohawk subwoofer which i don’t really know what are the specifications :p I wouldn’t know the price as until today they still won’t tell me how much they bought it for.

With a new subwoofer on hand, i had to get an amplifier to power this wonderful sub. The investment was not considered very huge, so i targeted about RM 1,000.00 My friend who does ICE as a hobby hooked me up with some good 2nd hand items. So i paid that amount of money for 1 set of 1-way Bass Acoustics front speakers and also a 4-channel amplifier.

The setup would be that the amp will have 2 channels for the sub and another 2 channels for the front speaker. My friend is also kind enough to put an additional fan onto the amp and he said, “If with these huge fans the amp also will cut, i got nothing to say !” haha.

I have not changed the tweeters yet as the standard Waja tweeters are pretty okay.

All the sound is transferred to the front speakers, so basically the rear speakers are pretty much useless. This is pretty much a standard setup i presume.

Well i had to sacrifice some boot space so that i can have some bass in my car and its well worth it !

I have not changed the head unit yet, as i am still scouting around for a new head unit. but i am really in a dilemma, because if i change the head unit, the volume and channel buttons on my steering will not function anymore 🙁
