Proton Waja 1.6 – My Ride – Part 8 – Head Unit

This is the Eclipse CD1200 head unit that i have installed a while back, replacing the standard Clarion Head Unit.

I bought this new head unit for like RM 700.00

The reason why i chose this HU over the rest of the brands in this price range was that there was this time i went to MACE audio competition and was able to sample the output from Eclipse HUs. It was really impressive and i was thinking, why not ? And also i got poisoned by my colleague to get this :p

Frankly speaking the sound was totally different after changing the head unit.

The only drawback was that the buttons on the steering could not be used anymore :p

This completes my 2-way audio setup, if you have read my previous posts on my ICE 🙂

Just a random shot taken for my wife :p

The sound coming from an engine revving to its limits is really music to my ears !

  1. Awesome. How hard was it to change the head unit out? Did you have to go looking for the pinouts to the cables or did it just drop in and work? I’d love to put a new head unit in my Waja but I’m worried I won’t be able to get everthing hooked up and working.
