Proton Looking into Hybrid Production in 2 to 3 years.

Proton, Malaysia national car maker is currently working on hybrid cars. Holdings Bhd’s Managing Director, Datuk Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir said that they are currently working with major original equipment manaufacturer (OEM) involved in producing hybrid parts and components.

“It is too early to talk of introducing a hybrid car in the local market. I can only say that we are looking at this possibility in two to three years time before we go into mass production,” he said.

Bosch is one of the company they are trying to collaborate because they have the technology to lithium-ion hybrid vehicle batteries.

Hopefully we will be able to purchase hybrid cars in the near future.
