New BMW i Experience i3 and i8

BMW had just launch their new sub-brand, BMW i which will focused on developing sustainable mobility solutions. Together with the launch, they have a fully electric BMW i3 (formally known as MegaCity Vehicle) and a plug-in hybrid, BMW i8. They will be using Carbon Fibre Reinforce Plastic (CFRP) to reduce weight added by the batteries, and therefore increasing performance and fuel efficiency.

BMW i3 concept vechicle will be powered by high -erformance electric motor that generate well over 100kW on a hatch back design. At the same time it uses some sort regerative braking technology but it takes effect when the foot is taken off the pedal.

The i8 which look very much like the BMW Vision which we saw at BMW’s Germany’s headquaters, will be the plug-in hybrid that provides performance of a sports car with benchmark efficiency. It is said that the LifeDrive structure allows a sporty design and at the same time balance weight distribution and low centre of gravity which result in better aerodynamics.
