KONN : Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 9 ’05 @ Nurburgring Nordschleife

Next up on the KONN series is the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 9 GSR 2005. The stock car is coming with 270HP @ 6400 RPM.

The handling of this car is really sharp, where when i make sudden counter turns, it doesn’t feel like i am loosing much control of the car especially at the beginning sector of the ring. Bear in mind that this stock car is coming with Comfort soft tires, but still i can feel that the car is sticking on the road !

This car is spotting a 6-speed transmission, so the gear ratios are more well spread and you will be in high rpms most of the time. The gear ratios on this car suits the ring very well.

But i have to say the comfort tires are really pulling my leg on this car’s potential, as most of the corners i can hear the tires screeching most of the time. There are a few corners in my run that i need to slow down because the tires could not take it.

Acceleration was ok at lower speeds but during higher speeds like 180-220 it feels that the engine is quite worked up and longer to reach redline. Guess the MIVEC Turbo combination does play a huge role on this area.

Top speed on the Ring is about 228-238 km/h and still not redline yet, i am guessing that this car could go still go on if the track was longer at the last section.

As a 6 year old car compared to now, the stability have indeed improved tremendously compared to the 15 year old Evolution 4, where at high speeds to full braking, the car just did well under those circumstances.

For this car the run i did was around 08:27:368 and again on comfort soft tires !
