Hyundai BlueOn – The First Korean Electric Vehicle

Hyundai has just announced its first Electric Vehicle (EV), this also makes Hyundai to make the first EV from Korea that will be commercially available. Named Hyundai BlueOne, it is based on the Hyundai i10 hatchback. The Li-ion batteries could be charged up with the conventional outlets of 220V, that will be charged in six hours. While a 380 V outlets will give it an 80% charge in just 25 minutes. Capable of travelling 140 km in a single charge.

BlueOn powered with an electric motor producing 81hp (61kW). With top speed of 130 km/h and acceleration from 0-100km/h in 13.1 seconds. It will also features a Virtual Engine Sound System (VESS), which creates an artificial sound for the safety of the pedestrians like other EVs.

Currently, 30 BlueOn test vehicles are sent to Korean government organization over the next few months to develop and test chargting infrastructure over the two period period.
