Ford to sell Mazda Share losing the Top Shareholder Title

It is official from Mazda Motor Corporation from Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan that the largest shareholder of Mazda will no longer be Ford Motor Company. Ford had sold 133,180,000 of Mazda shares bring Ford to 3.5% of Mazda shares from previously 11%. It is said that Chase Manhattan Bank with 7.1% as of Sept 30 will be getting the title as the top spot.

Ford and Mazda has been working since 1960 and in 1979, it started with a 7% stake and continue to control upto 33.4% in 1996.
