This video is featuring a Proton Wira which hits the Ferrari F430 on the north-south expressway. To make matters worst, the Ferrari Club is doing a convoy to somewhere. You can see that there are at least half a dozen of Ferraris on the road side and also a GTR. So much for an accident! I doubt that the insurance from the old Proton Wira will be able to pay for the damage, so I am wondering how would the claim be?

Proton Emas was showcased in Geneva International Motor Show on Monday. This concept car is a joint effort of Proton, Italdesign Giugiaro and Lotus Engineering. Emas actually mean gold in Malay language. This will be the very first hybrid plug-in car by the Proton. Three variant was featured in Geneva, displaying:-

• EMAS – A hatchback saloon with 5 doors, 4 seats.
• EMAS Country – A hatchback saloon with 3 doors, 5 seats
• EMAS – A hatchback saloon with 3 doors, 3+1 seats, and the shortest of the three with 3 metres in length

Emas will be powered by a 3 cylinder 1.2-litre engine developing 51 horsepower that can run on petrol, ethanol or methanol. While the electrical engine will provide a continous power of 45 kW and 75 kW peak power. This will take Emas from 0-100km/h at 14 seconds and a top speed of 170km/h.

What really capture our attention was the concept interior, the clean white design with an Apple iPhone is simply superb and futuristic looking. Despite the three great design, it is not know if this car will be brought to production in the near future.

I have actually saw them showcasing this new Naza Kia Forte over the weekend at Pavilion KL, Malaysia. Naza Kia Forte price in Malaysia is ranging from RM75,800 to RM93,800 (on the road price), which place it at the price of a Toyota Vios or a Honda City but Forte is in the same classification to a Civic or Altis. I am actually quite impress with the safety and the features available on this Forte.

The forte is equip with a Engine Start/Stop button & smart key, 4 ultrasonic RPAS sensors, Radio/CD/MP3 with USB iPod connectivity, Anti Lock Braking System (ABS), Dual Airbags, Active Head rest and power window. The SX models which are slightly more expensive is equip with Traction Control (SX models), 17″ Alloy Wheels (SX models), Conering Brake Control (CBC), Electronic Brake – Force Distrobution (EBD) and the highest model will include Side and Curtain Airbags. The safety of this car is simply over its price.

Naza Kia Forte will be price as follows:-

• Naza Forte 2.0 DOHC CVVT SX – RM93,800.00

Remember to also have a look at Kia Forte Koup which we have covered previously. This is a two door version of the Kia Forte, but it will not be likely for Naza to bring this Koup into Malaysia.

Perodua finally launch their range of MPV in Malaysia with Perodua Alza today. It is a 1.5-litre MPV that will be available on sale tomorrow. Currently we are only looking at 4 variant and another 2 more luxurious model will be out next March 2010. The four variants includes Standard model and Premium model with the option of Manual or Automatic. The colors available are Classy Purple along with Ebony Black, Ivory White, Pearl White, Medallion Grey, and Glittering Silver.

The engine will have a 103hp at 6000rpm and 136Nm at 4440 rpm torque.

Overall the car internal and features are pretty much basic. With the premium model having some props of CD/MP3/WMA audio system with Bluetooth capability, dual SRS Airbags, steering wheel audio control switches. Also the Classy purple is only available for the premium too. Leather seat wrap is also available on the premium edition.

Current Perodua Alza price range is from RM56,000 to 64,000. Perodua Alza price in Malaysia will be as follows:-

Perodua Alza 1.5L Standard MT

Solid – RM55,490

Metallic – RM55,990

S. Metallic – RM56,190

I am actually impress with their later model that is expected to release on March 2010. This premium sports model will include bodykit, GPS and a reverse camera for safety. Warning !! Extreme Mutation !! The Bufori MKII below evolved to the above Bufori CS  !!!

That was always the impression that i had about Bufori, that they make very good classic roadsters. But its all changed now, with the introduction of the Bufori CS in their stable !!

The CS here stands for “Compact Sports”, where it was fully designed and developed by BMCC (Bufori Motor Car Company).

The monocoque body is made with the ingredients of very light reinforced carbon fiber and kevlar and bolts on a space frame chassis.

On the engine bay, this baby is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged engine, no figures on the power and torque yet… I always feel that a 2.0l turbo will be a just nice car to drive around with the enough ooommmpphhh :p

I think when they official figures are revealed, it will be definitely crazy, as this car sounds and looks very light, coupled to a turbo, i can’t imagine the power-to-weight ratio :p

With such a good car, naturally in order to prove this car’s prowess they will definitely have to go on track.

The Bufori guys wanted to race. And with this in mind, the Bufori Motor Sports (BSM) came into picture. The team also collaborated with Axle Motorsport and developed the Bufori BMS R1, which is the race edition of the Bufori CS.

“After two years of hard work in designing and developing our new sports car, the BUFORI CS, we are very proud that a racing version of our car has been developed and will have its first public appearance at such a prestigious event as the Macau Grand Prix. We could not have wished for a better occasion. Our intention is to transfer the racing technology to the road version of the BUFORI CS and bring in all the qualities for which BUFORI is renowned” says Felix Haller, General Manager Marketing & Operations of BMCC.

The guys in BMS AXLE RACING team will be competing  in Macau this coming weekend for the 56th Macau Grand Prix. Bufori is the first Malaysian manufacturer to be taking part in the Macau GT Grand Prix at the Guia Circuit.

Race version of the soon-to-be-introduced Bufori CS to prove its qualities at the Macau GT Cup

Malaysian luxury car manufacturer BUFORI Motor Car Company (BMCC) is extending its model range and will soon be launching a new generation of modern sportscars.

The BUFORI CS, which stands for “Compact Sports”, is a purist and powerful 2 door coupé. Unlike previous generations of BUFORI motorcars, the BUFORI CS is intentionally modern-styled. Powered by a 2.0L turbo-charged engine, the sportscar will feature a lightweight composite body and offer the typical BUFORI craftsmanship, attention to detail and quality. The BUFORI CS is expected to be launched in Malaysia at the beginning of 2010 and more details will be revealed towards the end of the year.

The BUFORI CS is fully designed and developed by BMCC in Malaysia. It was recently decided that BUFORI wanted to have a race version of the car, in order to prove the vehicles capabilities and performance under extreme conditions and directly apply proven racing technology to the on going development of the road car.

This lead to the creation of the newly established BMS (BUFORI MOTOR SPORTS), which is the motorsport division of BUFORI.  Through the collaboration with AXLE MOTORSPORT, a company dealing in high-tech motor racing development, BMS and AXLE MOTORSPORT jointly developed the BUFORI BMS R1 using a team of Formula One engineers, employing only the highest quality components and materials.

The BMS AXLE RACING team will take part in the upcoming 56^th Macau Grand Prix (weekend of 19th November 2009) with the BUFORI BMS R1, the race edition of the all new BUFORI CS.

BUFORI is the first Malaysian manufacturer to participate at the Macau GT Grand Prix.
The Guia Circuit of Macau is a street circuit with a combination of fast straights and tight corners. It is recognised as one of the most challenging and demanding circuits in the world.

The unequal upper and lower arm front and rear suspension with coil over shocks are fully adjustable and provide excellent road holding.

The BUFORI CS is fitted with a front mounted 4 cylinder 2.0L turbo–charged high performance engine that delivers effortless power and offers an exhilarating driving experience.

This engine is a collaborative work between Lotus and Proton. 50% of the parts will come from Malaysia manufacturer. It is also said that the engine will provide economical gas consumption and at the same time improve performance of the car. This new Proton Engine is also said to have tested with our Petrol grade RON95 and RON97.

This engine is expected to be completed on year 2011 and will be fitted to cars that will be exported to overseas countries.

Looks like our prediction of Team Lotus Sauber will become 1Malaysia Lotus or 1Malaysia Sauber. Nevertheless, Malaysia very own F1 team will start other other F1 constructors at the racing grid next season. The picture above is a miniature mockup of the new team but sponsors are yet to be included. We are expecting AirAsia and Naza Group to be the first main sponsor for this new F1 team.

There is a lot of controversial about this as we are concern about the cost that would involve since Honda quits F1 with the reason that they spends over RM1 billion / season that seems to go unjustified. But Malaysian government replied that the advertisements cost would be well worth it.

This is a joint venture between the government and the private sector companies. With government investment going through Proton, our national car manufacturer. I read form blogs and comments that there are a lot of concern over this, but we could only hope that it would actually do well for our nation.

This is the Eclipse CD1200 head unit that i have installed a while back, replacing the standard Clarion Head Unit.

I bought this new head unit for like RM 700.00

The reason why i chose this HU over the rest of the brands in this price range was that there was this time i went to MACE audio competition and was able to sample the output from Eclipse HUs. It was really impressive and i was thinking, why not ? And also i got poisoned by my colleague to get this :p

Frankly speaking the sound was totally different after changing the head unit.

The only drawback was that the buttons on the steering could not be used anymore :p
