Toyota’s cheif test driver, Hiromu Naruse, 67 years old, has dies in a crash on highway 410 near Nürburgring race track in Germany. Naruse-san has joined Toyota since 1963 and is so-called the Godfather of the Lexus LFA.

This is a prototype of a special edition of the Lexus LFA which crashed head-on to a BMW with two other test drivers. While the BMW drivers survived, but one is in critical condition. Plus both victims were wearing helmets.

The reasoning behind the problem is as follows:-

The Prius and other hybrid models also rely on electronic systems that combine regenerative braking with conventional brake pads, so that the battery can absorb as much energy as possible while the pads do most of the work of stopping the car. Toyota has determined that the problem occurred as the car switched from regenerative to conventional brakes just as the anti-lock brake system kicked in.

This is the very first supercar by Lexus LFA, and selling at Lexus’s cost price of £340,000 (somehow a lot expensive compare to the estimated $370,000) it is a little expensive if you are comparing to those car that perform in the same range but taking the workmanship and the material into consideration, it is slightly cheaper than the Ferrari Enzo and also slower.

Lexus will be joining the supercars range with its new LFA. This car will be ready for sale end of 2010 but pre-ordering has already started. With a limited quantity of 500 units, it will all be booked before it is open for sale. The price for this new 2010 Lexus FLA will be tagged at a whooping $375,000 and there will be variation special units of this FLA at the beginnning of 2012 that is focus on tracks

This supercar will be powered by a 4.8-litre V10 engine that will outputs 553HP at 8,700rpm and 354 lb-ft / 6800 rpm. It will be a rear wheel drive, with six speed automated sequential gearbox. Lexus FLA will go from 0 to 100km/h in only 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 325km/h

I really couldn’t imagine this when i saw this image ! I always thought that this would only be available in this sci-fi movies where they are driving those futuristic cars or jets…

But this is now found in the Lexus RX450h that shows speed, navigation, warning and more !

Its just sooooooo cool to have this functionality and am really amazed by this technology, as its still able to show clearly even though the front environment is light in color. Lexus uses high intensity LED to achieve this, they even tested it in snow areas where the background is mostly white.

This sexy convertible adds to the lineup of the “intelligent sports series”, which is the IS series.

Under the hood is a 2.5L V6 engine capable of producing 205 BHP mated to six-speed automatic transmission.

I have always liked the IS series, due to the classy looks but with very good performance figures. Even the version that is not convertible is also very very appealing to me

The 3-part roof mechanism opens up at a very impressive time of 20 seconds, amazing ! Also the roof is made entirely of aluminum.

Tail lights are all LED and there is also a high mounted LED brake light mated together onto the boot lip spoiler.

Oh i feel so classy when i saw the interior design of this convertible, but i’ll have to say that its gonna be pretty hard to maintain, as the cream white material gets dirty very easily !

At the boot you can also safely place a nine inch golf bag even with the top down, pretty ample boot space i’d say !

The rear seems to look very roomy, i think i can fit in just nicely :p

A lot might say that its really not a good idea to own a convertible in Malaysia, given that the weather is so hot, but oh well, if you have it as a weekend car or 3rd,4th,5th car, why not ? :p
