Are you sober enough?

In our society, drinking is a very common pastime. You will see many people in pubs and clubs to have a good time after a hard days work. From this, working adults usually drive and you can’t help it sometimes coz you have to entertain your clients or bosses, a friends farewell party and so on. Drinking and driving comes hand in hand but would it be safe to do so? In many cases it contradicts the metaphor of “if you drink don’t drive” and “if you drive don’t drink”.  For guys, the most common answer to “hey can you drive?” after exceeding the alcohol level for driving is “sure I can drive, I am not drunk! (Men’s ego and pride is thinking most of the time)” However alcohol can actually manipulate our vision when driving, hell even when we walk our vision tends to be blurry. In order to drive on the road it looks easier then it is. Firstly there are 3 mirrors that you have to look at, and then there are the motorbikes that are lurking on your blind spots (its even hard to see them when you are sober), you need to even think about the cars behind you, in front of you, ten cars away from the one in front of you, emergency breaking, dropping gears when you are driving a manual and so on.

Wow with all these at stake to drive safely, do you actually think when you have like half a bottle of whisky you can handle all these? Yeah I am not a perfect driver and I really don’t think a person can drive after some influence of alcohol coz I have tried it before and man it’s hard. Thinking back on what I have not done is just scary, coz if you crash and die I would think it would be ok (think about your family) but if you take an innocent life then that’s bad (the blood is on your hands). So after a nice party with your friends, think twice before you drive or go to a nearest coffee shop to have a coffee or tea to sober up it can make a difference.

About the Author

When I was a little younger, I never had the interest in cars at all. Somehow it picked it up when I was in high school and oh yeah did I mention my dad and brother loves cars as well? I am more of a Japanese Car lover then any other car but don’t get me wrong I like the rest as well. Let’s just say that Jap cars are the first on my list. Drifting, racing circuits and rallying, these are the thing that I love to do but I can’t! Well let’s just say I don’t have the skills for these kind of things. So the only thing I do is occasionally drive fast on the road when I am provoked by a much slower car or in par. "All you need to see is my tail light" turboturtle
