2012 Honda Fit EV and Plug-in Hybrid

Honda has finally release their very own EV and if all goes well, it will be in produciton in 2012 for both US and Japanese markets. The Honda Fit EV uses the same layout as the current second generation Fit but uses a electric motor that is used in the FCX Clarity hydrogen fuel cell vehicle with a top speed of 90mph and a estimated 100 mile driving range in the US LA4 cycle but will be reduced to 70 miles after EPA adjustment.

Fit EV will have three driving modes, normal sport and economy which is similar to the CR-Z. Charging is expected to take 12 hours at 120-v and 6 hours at 240-v.
